Of course, the rules were different for guys --- especially the athletic laborers, 'rickshaw pullers, tattooed post runners, and the Great Sumo Wrestlers -- all of whom wore nothing but diapers (ok ok...."fundoshi") as they paraded around in public 24 hours a day.
In fact, the "elite" of the Japanese Government were embarrassed by their own national culture of men "going around naked all the time" --- but only embarrassed when they knew that foreigners were watching them and thinking "Oh, how uncivilized these Japanese are."
The Japanese, who even today have basically NO self-confidence as a people, and who always want the approval of "Westerners" in almost all that they do, passed laws against their own culture during the Meiji era prohibiting Japanese males in the large cities from going around half-naked (as was their national habit, and socially accepted norm).
All of these hurried laws were introduced hoping to make the foreign residents and tourists think that Japan was "civilized" just like the countries of the "West", and to hopefully avoid having any foreigners point their fingers and laugh at them.
Unfortunately, this is totally true. I couldn't make this stuff up. Japan needed foreign investment, and wanted to appear "worthy" to Western lenders and governments who were potential donors.
Now that we have established the general Victorian decorum of Japanese women (except for the laboring classes, who could often been see with their boobs hanging out), it's only fair to tell you that when this sweaty game of Basketball is over, all of these modest young girls will carry their "feminine charms" straight over to the public baths, where they will strip completely naked in front of gangs of likewise naked men who are total strangers, and enjoy the pleasures of the bath with their equally naked family and friends.....just as long as the bath has a string stretched across the middle of the room-sized tub to prove to the "Westerners" that the "sexes bathe separately in the public baths.
I just wanted to clear that up ! But, I digress.
Check out the basket-pole guys and the baskets woven out of bamboo -- with mini raised backboards as part of their woven design. Like Baseball, Basketball was a straight import from the USA where a visiting Canadian had gotten it started only a few years earlier (1891) at a Springfield, Massachusetts YMCA -- using peach baskets...and a soccer ball.

Answer by kwflamingo If she still gets her period and is still ovulating eggs - the number gets lower as you get older - but there is a possibility that this could happen. In other words the only way to avoid getting someone pregnant is to cover it up!

This phenomenon may occur within certain culture pockets where that sort of behavior is expected and encouraged. In other places, nothing of the sort happens.
Some people like sex, others want it less, some not at all. Some people like sex but dislike the social stigma; others don't care about the stigma; others aren't subject to the stigma; and still others are actually in culture pockets where it's encouraged rather than discouraged.
